The Consortium is a vehicle for university-wide discourse on and learning about the societal dimensions of science and technology, including, for example, the transformational as well as incremental impacts of technological change on society, the role of culture and belief in shaping how humans as individuals and as societies approach science and technology, and the role of science (and scientists) in shaping public policy. We seek these ends through informal interchanges as well as more formal coursework for our students. We list here a taste of what we hope is to come.
